I have used this product for a couple of decades and is now getting worn, tho it still works. I read somewhere that you could make your own with electrical tape but that would not hold the seal very well. These tabs are expensive but they do work well for awhile. Old ones stop holding the seal so I am getting more so I can replace them more often. Also needed for a good seal is a lid whose seal ring is not too worn and no gunk on it. With these parameters, I have had jars stay sealed for years. Best thing for keeping coffee fresh.
